This scratcher is so nice looking, my cat wasn’t sure at first. But once I showed him he is allowed to scratch it, he’s obsessed. It looks great and seems like it will last forever.
It’s a very classy looking piece. Feels very high quality. So far my cats haven’t used it to scratch so it’s basically been decorative…I hope they use it, but nonetheless it’s a very good looking piece.
I read all the reviews (and tips from Refined Feline) and gave a lot of consideration to purchasing this scratcher. After years of cleaning up carpet pieces daily from the bedroom floor that emanated from our longtime carpeted Kitty Tower, I decided to take a chance and buy it. I already have the Lotus leaf, branch, and tree and my cats love those. I just figured that I might need to spend some time teaching them to use this new scratcher. After all, it actually took months for them to use the Lotus Tree, but then they loved it and still use it every day. So, I bought the new scratcher and it arrive promptly. I was amazed that my one cat, after placing his paws on it and moving them up and down it, and then demonstrating how to use it as if I were a cat, he started using it the first night! He has used it ever since, I am delighted to report. The other cat was not as quick to use it, but did start to use it after a week. He doesn’t use it every time, going sometimes for the carpeted pet steps or carpeted tower, but he does use it some of the time. I plan to keep teaching and correcting him. I have yet to try the catnip spray. The fact is, though, that I, in a little over a week, have cut down their carpeted kitty furniture scratching by probably 65%. And who knows, the second cat may improve his percentage of choosing the right scratcher yet. I am very satisfied with this purchase, and may buy another one for downstairs. The description is accurate in my experience, so far, that there is no shedding from this scratcher. And it looks so great too. I love it!
I have 10 inside cats and they do not know what it is for now, it is completely different than the sisal rope scratching post they are used to so it will take time, I put cat nip on it but they still don’t know what to think, only 1 of the 10 use it after 2 weeks, we will see how this goes…But it is beautiful, we have all the refined feline wicker cat furniture.
This scratching post looks great in our house and so much better than a typical scratching post. However, my cats won’t scratch it.☹ï¸
