The Refined Feline presented its luxury cat furniture products at the 1st Annual New York City Pet Show on May 22nd to the 23rd. For the first time we presented our newly designed litter box furniture to the public. Our Refined Litter Box and Refined Litter Box Electric products are now made in the US and are built with a stile and rail frame. They still have a reversible entrance, storage drawer, and sliding botton tray for easy litter access. Our Corner Litter Cabinet also has the same stile and rail design. Listening to consumer feedback on earlier models, we included a larger plastic litter tray. An external litter catch will be offered with each litter box to catch stray litter as cats exits the litter box.

While the NYC Pet Show was dominated by dogs, we did have many cat enthusiasts stop by our booth and offered their compliments on our products. Some even brought their cats to the show. The cats took right to the Lotus, scooping out the crowd from above. The show also featured guest speakers which included Beth Adelman who spoke about “What do cats want from their litter box” and Anne Hohenhaus who presented “Cat myths debunked.”

Next year we plan to take our show on the road, attending consumer pet shows around the country. Maybe we’ll be in your town :)

Potential buyers at 2010 Global Pet Expo discuss cat furniture needs at the RefinedKind Pet Products booth.

From March 26th to 28th RefinedKind Pet Products exhibited our luxury line of cat furniture at the 2010 Global Pet Expo held in Orlando Florida. 800 exhibiters attended along with 5000 buyers from around the world. This was the first time we attended the Global Pet Expo and we found it quite a success.

We received compliments on not only the products we offered but on the booth design. A living room was recreated completed with sofa, coffee table, and rug to help buyers visualize how our products would work in their customers’ homes.

Our current line was presented including our Lotus cat tower and our newly designed Refined Litter Box. Now American made with metal knobs and a classic stile and rail design. Also exhibited were some new litter boxes and cat/dog beds. We hope to bring these new designs to market by the end of this year.

Not only were domestic buyers interested, but international buyers as well. Those living in Japan, Brazil, and Europe should hopefully see our products available for purchase soon.

Overall it was a successful trade show and we hope to attend another soon to spread the word about our products.

The Refined Feline Holiday Drive
We have launched a “Feed 500 Feline” Holiday Drive. The goal is to feed 500 shelter cats for 30 days. The best part is YOU get to vote who receives the funds.

This is how it works: For every eligible cat furniture product purchased we will feed x amount of cats for a day. For example, if a Lotus Cat Tower is purchased, we will allocate enough funds to feed 30 shelter cats for a day. If a Refined Litter Box is purchased, we will allocated funds to feed 10 cats for a day. There are nine products eligible for the program on our web site, TheRefinedFeline.com.

  • Lotus Cat Tower
  • Little Lotus Cat Tower
  • Refined Litter Box
  • Refined Litter Box Electric
  • Corner Litter Cabinet
  • Catemporary Cat Tower
  • Catemporary Cat Corner
  • Cat Clouds Cat Shelves
  • Kitt-In Box Cat Bed

The ultimate goal is to raise enough money to feed a total of 500 hungry shelter cats for 30 days.

We have launched a “Feed 500 Feline” Holiday Drive. The goal is to feed 500 shelter cats for 30 days. The best part is YOU get to vote who receives the funds.

This drive will last from 11/24/2009 to 12/31/2009 on purchases made on TheRefinedFeline.com or its partners between these dates.

The top 10 shelter vote getters will receive the funds distributed evenly. To vote on which shelter should receive the funds follow this link http://www.therefinedfeline.com/holiday-feed-500-cats.cfm. No purchase necessary to vote. So visit the link to vote, tell your friends, and help get the word out. Remember them more products purchased the more we can help your local shelter.

We are happy to do our part to help feed shelter cats in need. Economic hardship decreases donation levels from the public, and support from local governments. The Feed 500 Felines holiday drive will ensure that cats continue to be well fed as we get through this difficult time.

Happy Holidays!

The Refined Feline Provides Cat Furniture to Animal Shelter Makeover Contest Winner

The Refined Feline joined forces with Petfinder.com to promote a cat room makeover contest to animal shelters around the country. The winner would receive over $1,300 of cat furniture from our company.  Out of 100’s of entries a winner was selected:  Central Minnesota Animal Care and Control.

On October 24th we flew from New York to Minnesota to help Lisa Tenter, director of CMACC, and her team assemble and install their new furniture.

Tenter entered the cat shelter makeover contest because they wanted to make a communal cat room but had no funding or any idea of what furniture to place in the space. They fell in love with The Refined Feline line of cat furniture and wanted to have it as the main focal points of the room.

“This makeover will provide cats with a room to stretch, play, and relax just like they were in a home setting.” says Tenter. “The atmosphere is expected to reduce shelter stress in these cats making them less prone to illness and disease. This aspect gives them a better chance at ultimately being adopted into a new forever home. It is also expected to reduce their length of stay at the shelter.”

CMACC has on average 15-20 cats available for adoption. They plan to place 4-5 vaccinated/altered cats into the new room when it is finished.

“The shelter as a whole will benefit from the fact that more people will want to visit the shelter to see the new “cat lounge”. And many may visit more often.” Said Tenter. ” Not only is it healthy for the cats, potential adopters will be able to see and visit with free-roaming cats in a more home-like environment. Making it easier for the adopters to pick out their new friend.”

We are happy to help this cat shelter in need and we hope to run this contest annually.

Kitt-In Box wins the 2008 Cat Fancy Editor Choice Award

September 1, 2008 by admin · Comments Off

Once again The Refined Feline is a recipient of an Editor’s Choice Award from Cat Fancy for its innovation in cat furniture design. This year it’s for the Kitt-In Box desktop pet bed.

This product came about after interviewing cat owners in their home and realizing that cats on the keyboard wasn’t just a problem I had. Others were like me; we loved our cat, but constantly had to pick them up off the desk and put them on our laps or the floor while we worked on the computer. It’s frustrating. We wanted them with us… but wished they could stay to the right or the left of the monitor… not right it front!! After observing one cat owner put a large cat bed on their desk, I had the idea to make a comfortable but stylish cat bed that can clamp on a desktop so it didn’t take up as much valuable desk space. So now you are happy you can work in peace and the cat is happy she has her own place to snuggle up in that’s still near by you.

Looks like the people at Cat Fancy liked it and I hope you will too.

Previous years winners of the Cat Fancy Editor’s Choice award were The Lotus Cat Tower and the Refined Litter Box.

Kitt-In Box 2008 Pet Product News Editor’s Choice Winner

I am happy to announce that the Kitt-In Box desktop cat bed is a 2008 Pet Product News Editor’s choice winner.
After 1.5 Years in development, working with customers and their cats, the hard work has paid off.
The Kitt-In Box is a great gift to cat owners who “have everything.” There isn’t a cat owner I know that doesn’t know what’s its like having their cat all over the computer when they type. It’s something I went through with my cat, and after I started this business and spoke to cat owners, seems they had the same frustration. Not that we didn’t appreciate our cats interest in what we were doing, it’s just we’re a tad better typists. ( Well for me.. barely!)
